CSR idea for my community

I have noticed that the number of bikers and runners in my community was increasing throughout the years. It crossed my mind that it could be possible to organize a small event given the time and opportunity. The event will be a short distance fun run and biking. The purpose of the event is to increase environment appreciation while helping individuals to stay fit. It doesn’t end with just a simple running and biking event, one important thing to consider is the proceeds of the event. So for the registration fees that are collected for the event, it will be used to purchase solar panels that could generate electricity to our community. Solar energy generated could be used in our facilities like our building hallways, street post lights and activity centres like basketball court, etc.
Regular running or jogging offers many health benefits. Running can:
·         help to build strong bones, as it is a weight bearing exercise
·         strengthen muscles
·         improve cardiovascular fitness
·         burn plenty of kilojoules
·         help maintain a healthy weight.

Cycling benefits:
·         Low impact – it causes less strain and injuries than most other forms of exercise.
·         A good muscle workout – cycling uses all of the major muscle groups as you pedal.
·         Easy – unlike some other sports, cycling does not require high levels of physical skill. Most people know how to ride a bike and, once you learn, you don’t forget.
·         Good for strength and stamina – cycling increases stamina, strength and aerobic fitness.
·         As intense as you want – cycling can be done at very low intensity to begin with, if recovering from injury or illness, but can be built up to a demanding physical workout.

Here are some benefits of solar energy.

Solar energy is not only sustainable, it is renewable and this means that we will never run out of it. It is about as natural a source of power as it is possible to generate electricity.
The creation of solar energy requires little maintenance. Once the solar panels have been installed and are working at maximum efficiency there is only a small amount of maintenance required each year to ensure they are in working order.
They are a silent producer of energy. There is absolutely no noise made from photovoltaic panels as they convert sunlight into usable electricity.
There are continual advancements in solar panel technology which are increasing the efficiency and lowering the cost of production, thus making it even more cost effective.

During operation solar electricity power plants produce zero emissions.
